Treatment INfo.

What to expect

  • When your first appointment is made you will receive an email prompting you to fill out the required intake forms. These intake forms will be updated as needed during the course of treatment and/or a year after initial intake. Every client is required to fill out the same intake form regardless of type of session.

When you make your first appointment online you will be required to input a credit card to have on file to reserve your appointment. This card will NOT be charged unless there is an appointment that is missed without proper notice & for late cancellations.

Payments for services can be made when we meet in person via cash, check or Venmo.

When you arrive, you are welcome to make use of the guest parking. Parking spots that are NOT in front of the tenants garages are for guests.

At the time of your appointment, please make your way to the front door where I will greet you. Upon entering we will walk back to the treatment room. You are welcome to bring all of your personal items with you to the treatment room. A coat rack will be provided to hang your jacket in the treatment room. You are welcome to remove your shoes when you enter the home or when you are in the treatment room.

Once settled into the treatment room we will sit together to discuss your health history and current needs and goals for treatment.

Depending on treatment type and personal preference, you may either remain clothed or disrobe to your level of comfort in privacy then lay on the treatment table to prepare to receive.

Following the table portion of the appointment we will take some time to review the session.

Scheduling follow-up sessions can be done at the end of the appointment or at a later time.

A series of appointments can be booked out three months in advance.

  • What to expect for your first session applies to Integrative Biodynamic Bodywork sessions.

These sessions provide opportunity for application and inclusion of the variety of tools that I have in my tool kit to support your healing journey. A session may include craniosacral therapy, energy work, biodynamic massage, acupressure, aromatherapy & other therapeutic topicals, cupping or acupuncture.

Generally, these sessions are given with the recipient disrobed to their level of comfort so that the inclusion of skin-on-skin contact can be made with oils &/or massage cream. Standard draping will be applied.

If you are interested in including acupuncture into your Biodynamic sessions please let me know in advance so that the proper forms can be signed and added to your chart.

  • What to expect for your first session applies to all sessions, including Acupuncture sessions.

Following the intake you will make your way to the treatment table. Clothing will either remain on or be removed to some degree to expose areas being treated. Standard draping will be applied.

Once comfortably laying on the treatment table, I will begin by listening to your pulse. This will help to guide the course of treatment. I may also palpate (touch) other areas of the body to assess the channels & organ systems.

Tuina/Shiatsu (massage) may be applied to help open the channels as a means of treatment and to help prepare for treatment.

Once needles are placed, I will find a place to rest my hands without disturbing the needles so that craniosacral therapy can be applied while the needles do their work. I will be with you in the treatment room during the whole duration of the session, unless you request some time alone to be with the acupuncture as it work with you.

When practicing acupuncture, I use few needles with smaller gauges (thinner rather than thicker needles). I often use my fingers to apply acupressure instead of using needles and implement other non-insertion tools to work with the meridian system to help restore balance and harmony.

  • What to expect for your first session is applicable to all sessions, including craniosacral therapy.

The session will begin with an intake to discuss health history and current treatment goals. The intake may include a standing evaluation to aid the assessment process.

Recipients of craniosacral therapy remain fully clothed during the session.

Once you are comfortably laying on the treatment table, generally, I will begin by placing my hands at your feet, head, or torso to begin to listen to and connect with your system.

During the session you are invited to simply be and receive. You may at times feel yourself slip into a relaxing dream like state and at other times notice your mind tracking different sensations in your body, while also noticing other information coming into the minds awareness.

The touch that is provided during the session has a wide range of potential expressions.

At times the touch may be off the body or resting quite lite and gently with a stillness and at other times may come with a deeper static pressure and/or be expressed with some kind of movement, such as a fine vibration or tapping for example. Other movements may include large and small movements (unwinding) of limbs and other joints of the body.

  • What to expect for your first session applies to Biodynamic Massage sessions.

Biodynamic Massage sessions are a purely non-motive based treatment offered without inclusion of acupuncture or other modalities other than the naturally blended inclusion of craniosacral therapy.

  • The frequency of treatment is determined person-by-person. Not all require the same consistency of care. Those with acute conditions may require more consistent treatment upfront and then can tapper down the consistency and others with chronic conditions may require on-going care with greater consistency long term because the issue that is being tended has been around longer and likely has a broader effect on the whole system.

Treatment is cumulative. There is wisdom in providing yourself some time to integrate the treatment received and there is also wisdom in receiving a couple sessions relatively close together to aide the healing process. We can work together to develop a treatment plan that is suited to your needs.

Generally, receiving treatment at least once a month for general well-being is a good place to start. Every two weeks is even better. Providing yourself on-going care as a preventative measure & to help deal with everyday stressors is advised.

  • It is advised to allow yourself the time and space to integrate the treatment post session.

This can look a lot of different ways. You may find that you want to take rest following session, to be quiet with yourself or be out in nature. Journaling is a wonderful way to aide the process of integrating and supporting the development of new perspectives and deeper understanding of your inner world. It is advised to take some time to reflect and to feel into what is new and different about your experience of your body, mind and spirit- to feel into how you have been touched by your experience. Doing so will add value to the gift of care you have provided yourself. If you must run off into the busyness of your life, then please do so with some gentle allowance for the integration to be present as the therapeutic change continues.
